A Tickle in My Throat
What if that 'getting sick' feeling was actually your body trying to get your attention?
It's simply a tickle in my throat.
For most, they would believe it is the precursor to them becoming sick.
For me, though… it's a sign.
I know this one is radical and might blow your mind, but I truly believe that we all have a part to play in our physical experience — even illness.
And it doesn't matter if we are aware of it or not.
It's about how we vibrationally operate and the effect that has on our physical body.
Now before you freak out, it's a little more nuanced than that.
I'm definitely not saying that every illness is 'your fault', or that you are solely responsible for every physical symptom you experience.
It's just that our emotional state, stress levels, focus, energy, and the way we move through life affect our physical experience far more than most of us have been taught to believe.
What the tickle is really telling me
What I have found to be true for me is that I often start getting sick when I'm feeling stretched thin or mentally tied up about something.
So basically, when I'm out of alignment.
Out of alignment by doing instead of feeling.
By trying to think it through instead of feel what's right.
By not lining up my energy with what I'm actually doing.
The shapes 'out of alignment' takes
Another way you can think about it: I'm in hustle mode, doing more than I really want to be doing, instead of listening to what I really need — which is usually to slow down.
Or I'm out of alignment because I'm spiralling mentally, overthinking something, so my energy feels torn in different directions instead of being focused fully on what feels right.
Or I'm out of alignment because I'm doing things because I think I should, because they need to be done — but I haven't lined my energy up with actually doing them, so energetically I'm out of whack.
Taking the hint
Basically it means my energy is all screwy.
And when I get stuck in those moments for a bit too long, it's no surprise to me when that tickle in my throat appears.
Usually I can figure out where I'm out of alignment, take the necessary steps to realign, and then focus on expecting to feel better.
Then — bing, bang, boom — I've taken the hint and shifted my vibration.
Being in alignment isn't about perfection, or even about always being in alignment.
It's about noticing the signs earlier and returning to yourself quicker.
