Get Unfunked With Me: Day Two
A ridiculously simple reframe that's already shifting my energy around the things I've been struggling with.
A lot has happened since my first Let's Get Unfunked blog post.
I had every intention of sharing these as close to daily as possible, but I've quickly realised that's basically impossible with everything I've got going on in my life right now.
I do, however, want to be really clear and honest about what I'm specifically unfunking in my life.
What I'm unfunking
First, my lack of energy, borderline exhaustion, and that generally fatigued feeling I seem to carry throughout my day.
Second, comparison—particularly when it comes to my social media posts—and that shitty feeling that maybe I'm doing all this work for nothing.
Third, my general state of being busy, sometimes overwhelmed, and honestly feeling like I'm trying to do too damn much.
And lastly, the nagging doubt and fear that my business is just not going to happen because maybe I'm not good enough.
Originally, I was going to deep dive into each of those areas and get oddly specific about what's going on.
But I no longer feel like that's the best course of action for a couple of reasons.
Done dwelling on what's wrong
Firstly, I don't want to spend all my time focusing on what's wrong, what's not working, what I don't like or what I feel needs to be unfunked.
I'm done giving all my attention to that side of the coin.
The other reason is that I'm here to share the unfunking process.
Which means I don't want to dwell on why I need to unfunk myself. I want to share what I'm trying, how it's going, and what I think is actually helping.
With that in mind, I've started playing with a little reframe that's been helping me.
The reframe
I did some work clarifying what I actually want and, more importantly, how I want to feel in each of those areas I shared earlier.
I was looking for a way to shift my energy around those subjects when this reframe came to mind.
It's ridiculously simple, but I've noticed such a difference in just the few days I've been practising it.
The concept is:
I love the idea of... [insert desired outcome or feeling].
For example:
I love the idea of having more energy and feeling energised throughout my day.
I love the idea that I can be me on social media and the right people will find me.
I love the idea of having a business that earns me money whether I'm working or not.
I love the idea of a slower pace of life where I spend more time resting.
Why this works for me
What I love about this is that I'm not saying I will have this.
I'm also not trying to convince myself that I'm experiencing those things right now when I'm not, because for me, that can sometimes just shine an even bigger light on the fact that it isn't my current reality.
Instead, "I love the idea of..." creates an openness to something I want.
There's nothing to prove.
I don't have to completely believe it's happening yet.
I just have to admit that I really fucking like the idea of it.
And somehow, that tiny energetic shift has been enough for me to start noticing actual shifts in my physical reality too.
How fucking cool is that?
